Inbefore Renewing the Countryside incorporated as a nonprofit, a partnership of a few individuals and organizations came together to compile a similar project featuring the stories of Minnesota's countryside.
Renewing the Countryside strengthens rural areas by championing and supporting rural communities, farmers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, activists and other people who are renewing the countryside through sustainable and innovative initiatives, businesses, and projects. The book and website became the foundation of a national education.
